Feel free to add a question if you can't find the answer anywhere else.
No. Abbenay is affiliated to Unga Forskare Stockholmsdistriktet and therefore young people is most welcome to come, but you are welcome to come regardless of your age. Currently we have active members up to 40 years old.
Just come. Coming to one of our meetings does not imply a long-term commitment, so you are most welcome to come over and check it out by yourself. If you have questions that you would like to pose before coming, you are most welcome to join our mailing list.
Then come! Hackerspaces in general, and Abbenay in particular are spaces envisioned to encourage knowledge generation and sharing. Abbenay is not meant to be a club for know-it-all kind of people, but rather for curious people wishing to experiment and learn something new. Beside informal learning happening at each meeting, we occasionally offer some structured courses.
Contact us on the mailing list or come directly to one of our meetings. Given that the demand is not so pressuring, we tend to organise them around potential participant's needs and wishes.
Note: This is perhaps no longer in the works - but check with us at the mailing list. At present we are working on launching a course about microcontroller programming during the fall 2010. Be aware that our courses are primarily targeted to young people as they are part of the activities we run under the UFS umbrella.
